There’s something undeniably enchanting about a winter wedding, especially when it’s set against the stunning backdrop of a snow-covered harbor. For Nick and Lindsey, their cold winter black-tie wedding was nothing short of a fairytale—an evening filled with love, warmth, and timeless elegance. From their heartfelt ceremony at St. Francis Church to a sophisticated reception at Harbor Bay Village, every detail was meticulously planned to create an unforgettable celebration.
Nick and Lindsey’s wedding day began with a soft snowfall blanketing the streets, setting a dreamy, wintery scene for their vows. St. Francis Church, with its grand architecture and warm sun lit interior, provided the perfect setting for their intimate and heartfelt ceremony. Guests, dressed in elegant black-tie attire, entered the church, exited to see the bride and groom.
As Lindsey walked down the aisle in a breathtaking long-sleeved Justin Alexander lace gown, holding a bouquet of white roses and baby breath greenery, all eyes were on her. Nick, dressed in a classic black tuxedo with a velvet jacket and bowtie, couldn’t hide his emotions as he saw his bride for the first time. The ceremony was a beautiful blend of tradition and personal touches.
Petoskey pier. Against the backdrop of a snow-covered Petoskey Pier, the bride and groom embraced the winter chill for a breathtaking wedding pictures. The icy blue waters of Lake Michigan stretched behind them, partially frozen in the crisp February air (it was 8F), while the iconic pier lighthouse stood tall, dusted with snow. We finished the pictures right outside the reception tent in Bay Harbor village.
After the ceremony, guests made their way to Harbor Bay Village, where the reception was held in a beautiful white heated tent overlooking the snow-dusted waterfront. The entrance was lined with flickering lanterns, and the reception space was adorned with a sea of white candles and baby breath arrangements, twinkling fairy lights, and rich black velvet accents that added warmth to the cool winter evening.
The décor was a perfect mix of sophistication and seasonal charm—tables draped in white and black, candles casting a soft glow, the tent was cozy yet elegant ambiance. Each place setting featured a black velvet bow and black glassware and black silverware.
Nick and Lindsey’s reception was as much about the experience as it was about aesthetics. Guests were treated to a gourmet multi-course meal catered by Crows Nest Catering. Signature cocktails added a festive touch to the evening.
During dinner, heartfelt toasts were given by the couple’s closest friends and family, sharing stories that reflected the depth of their love and the journey they had taken together. Laughter and tears of joy filled the room as guests raised their glasses to the newlyweds, celebrating a love that was as strong and enduring as the winter season itself.
No black-tie wedding is complete without a night of dancing, and Nick and Lindsey’s reception was no exception. DJ Casey Rush kept the dance floor alive with an incredible mix of classic hits, modern favorites, and special requests that had guests of all ages moving. As they swayed under a canopy of twinkling lights, it was clear that this night was the beginning of a lifetime of beautiful memories together.
The dance floor quickly filled as DJ Casey Rush seamlessly blended upbeat tunes with sentimental slow dances, ensuring the energy never faded. From high-energy anthems to nostalgic throwbacks, every song played a role in creating an electric atmosphere.
