Alyssa and Garrett planned a winter wedding in South Haven, Michigan that felt grounded, classic, and effortless. The day started with a full Catholic mass at St. Basil Catholic Parish and ended with a packed dance floor at Black River Barn.

Winter weddings don’t need much to stand out. Clean air, soft tones, and intentional color choices do the work.
The burgundy palette added depth without overpowering anything. It complemented the season and gave the entire day a strong visual identity—from florals to dresses to the smaller details.

St. Basil Parish brings a sense of tradition you can feel right away. The architecture, the light, the pace—it all slows things down in the best way.
A full mass creates space. Nothing rushed.

Black River Barn is one of those venues that instantly feels warm. Wood textures, low light, and just enough structure to guide the night without taking over.
Once the reception started, it didn’t stop. Speeches flowed into dancing, and the energy carried through the entire night.

Winter weddings in Michigan strip things down. No distractions. No excess. Just people, connection, and the reason everyone is there.
Alyssa and Garrett leaned into that—and it shows.
