McKay Ballroom wedding

A Spring Wedding at Ballroom at McKay | Allyson & Mike Grand Rapids, Michigan

Allyson and Mike’s wedding day was a beautiful spring celebration full of elegant details, meaningful moments, and iconic downtown backdrops. Set in the heart of the city, their wedding at Ballroom at McKay was the perfect mix of classic romance and Grand Rapids charm.

The day began at the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, where Allyson and her bridesmaids got ready in a suite overlooking the city skyline. The natural light, joyful energy, and heartfelt anticipation made for a picture-perfect start.

Their ceremony took place at the historic St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The cathedral’s stunning architecture and rich history created a timeless setting as Allyson and Mike exchanged vows surrounded by their loved ones.

After the ceremony, we headed to the Blue Bridge—a true Grand Rapids icon—for wedding party portraits. The bold blue color and city views provided the perfect pop of urban style to complement their classic wedding look.

The reception was held at the stunning McKay Tower Ballroom, a part of the Rye Venues collection. This Grand Rapids wedding venue is known for its glamorous interior, grand staircase, and luxurious touches, making it an unforgettable setting for Allyson and Mike’s wedding. From great toasts to a packed dance floor, the ballroom was filled with love and laughter all evening long.

As the day came to a close, we made our way to the rooftop of McKay Tower for sunset portraits. With sweeping views of downtown Grand Rapids and a glowing sunset, it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
